I have been delivering software training in Darwin for 10 years and have developed a training style that works. I know the software I train because I use it regularly in my graphics and design work.
I have contracted to a number of Darwin software training providers, and I still provide contract training to Editure (CSM Technology).
Enjoy
In order to learn, you must enjoy the experience. I go out of my way to
ensure that happens. You will never be left with a confusing, mass-produced
training manual to slave through while the trainer wanders off for a cup
of coffee. You won't be afraid to ask questions (however silly you think
they might be) and I guarantee you won't ever be bored!
Learning Material
I prepare all my own training material. You will receive a clear and concise
handout for each topic covered in the course outline. I try to make exercises
and examples relevant to you.
Control
This allows you total control of your training. Most software contains a
vast range of features, many of which you may never need to use and many
of which you may already know. I can tailor your training to your needs
by including only the topics you need to cover. If you have no previous
experience with a particular piece of software, I normally recommend covering
the entire level 1 course outline.
Mix & Match
You can also 'mix and match'. Choose a selection of topics from more than
one piece of software. Not recommended for beginners but very worthwhile
and cost effective if you are already familiar with several pieces of software.
Tailored Training
Many training providers offer this service. All too often it is arranged
without you having an opportunity to discuss your needs with the actual
trainer! This can lead to you attending an expensive tailored training session
only to find yourself covering topics you already know. Even worse are tailored
training sessions where the trainer isn't familiar with the topics you've
requested!
I will always talk to you first.
