Whether you like it or not, a business without a web site is a little like a business without a business card.
BUT - once you have one, you shouldn't rely upon it as your front office and expect people to walk into your site every hour of the day and night, ordering your goods or services while you sit back in the tinnie looking for the elusive barramundi!
Your web site should complement all the other aspects of advertising your business. Your web site address must appear on every piece of paper that ever leaves your office - business cards, compliment slips, brochures, letterheads, faxes etc. It should appear on every email you send or any advertising you do.
If your web site has an order form, tell everybody - encourage them to use it but don't expect your customers to just 'find it' by chance.
Gone are the days when we can expect reliable free listings on search engines. Don't expect your web site to suddenly appear at the top of 12 million other businesses (unless you're prepared to pay for it of course!)

Before any work goes into the site itself, I meet with you to determine your target audience (a crucial aspect to web design and one that is so often neglected). I find out what you want your web site to achieve, the sort of 'look' you're after and of course, your budget.
I provide you with a written quote and once you have decided to proceed I give you a proof design so that you are happy with the overall 'look and feel' before I start on the nuts and bolts.
Maintenance
Your web site shouldn't sit untouched for years. Just as you update your
other advertising literature, so should you update your website on a regular
basis. I offer a web master service charged at an hourly rate. You won't
get caught up in expensive monthly maintenance agreements.
